1. About

Short Run is a program to create shortcuts to programs or folders that can be run using the Windows run dialog (Win+R).

2. Installation

Copy Short Run to any folder you wish. Double click. At first, you will see a bunch of shortcut that are already there (placed by the installation of other programs) that you probably don't use anyway. Just to be safe, you can back up the current shortcuts so you can restore them later if you would need them. To do that, go to File > Backup shortcuts. It will ask you to save a file. Save it somewhere that you will remember where it is. If you need to restore them, just go to File > Restore Shortcuts.

3. How to use

Creating a shortcut:

First way:

To create a shortcut; Right click, under Shortcuts select Add Shortcut. Enter the name of the shortcut (the command that you will type in the Run box to execute the program). Then browse to the file or folder you want to launch and press OK.

Second way:

You can now drag and drop a file/directory onto the Short Run dialog to add it to your shortcuts. Then edit the settings as needed.

Third way:

Start Short Run. Right click and choose Options > Add to Send To Menu. You can then close Short Run. Now you can click on any Folder or File and under Send To choose Short Run. You will then be presented with the Add dialog box.

Removing a shortcut:

Highlight the shortcut you want to remove, Right click and select Options > Remove Shortcut(s)... easy huh?

Removing All or Dead shortcuts:

You can remove ALL of the shortcuts in Windows (make sure you back them up first, just in case). Right clock and choose Options > Remove ALL Shortcuts.

You can remove Dead shortcuts (shortcuts that point to a file or folder that no longer exists). Right click and choose Options > Remove Dead Shortcuts.

Shortcut items that have a RED '!' mark as the icon are usually dead/broken shortcuts.

Closing Short Run:

You can close Short Run a few ways. Click the X in the upper right, Right click and choose Exit or you can press the Escape (Esc) key.
