VDSZIP is not available because the author of it was a VDS pirate and had
put dangerous code in his files before; henceforth the file could not be
trusted entirely and VDSWORLD does not endorse VDS pirates.
VDSZIP was not free anyway so you would be better off just purchasing
the VDSDLL. _________________ FreezingFire

I think Garrett actually was the owner of vdszip. He wouldnt' do anything malicious to the dll himself but he had the dll built by someone else. The guy who actually built it was a trouble maker around vdsworld and was known to put malicous code in exe/dll before so the vdszip may/may not contain malicious code.
If Garrett has the vdszip source code I would be more than willing to look at it and compile it for him; if the vdszip was his dll that is. |

I used the VDSZIP DLL extensively and it has been distributed with my apps to literally tens of thousands of people. I would be quite concerned at the implication that it did anything malicious. I was assured by Garrett that he had looked at the code and found nothing malicious in it, and also that the author concerned was then acting responsibly.
However, this DLL is fairly unstable, and it causes a data execution prevention exception at start-up, which I hope is just bad programming and not something deliberately malicious. Because of this, I will be using the new Zip toolkit for VDS, which CR hasn't released yet. This won't be free either, but I expect the price will be reasonable considering that Zip toolkits for other programming languages cost $99 to > $200. _________________ The Tech Pro
