I'm all for change. If VDS can be better / faster etc. by changing to a newer way then let’s do it. Backward compatibility would be nice but at some point you have to move forward. Example Microsoft said Windows ME didn’t ride over dos like 95/98 did. Well it kind of did they just hid it. And what a huge flaky flop that was for an OS. My point is if adding backward capability is going to hamper the efficiency of the new way what's the point. I have a few programs that have many lists and what a pain to keep track of what number goes where. Mho |

I really kind of like the old way, but if they can co-exist, I'm all for it. _________________ FreezingFire

I had made this a little while ago. This is kind of what you are talking about (I think) .
This adds a @List(new) function.
%%NewList = @list(new,<OldErrorTrap>)
This creates a list that isn't being used and returns Number of list created or nil if no list available
This function uses an errortrap to test for used lists.
<OldErrorTrap> is the label of your previous error trap if needed.
You use the variable with the list commands.
List add,%%NewList,Some Text
List close,%%NewList
Hope you find it usefull.
Go to the VDS 5 Units section to dl
