Hi, no/know I'm not trying to encourage script kiddies/hax0rs.
However, I'm building a piece of software that will go on client machines.
I need this software to be very difficult to decompile, because the binary has twofish encryption decoder keys compiled into it.
VDS 2 was simple to decompile, there was even a tool for it.
VDS 3 I have decompiled one script long ago that I had to have my source back for, after many tedious hours using string replace methods.
VDS 4 I assume was about the same difficulty as VDS 3, hard but possible.
Can VDS 5 be decompiled using string replace methods? How hard is it to decompile against say VB6 or VB.NET or Delphi?
Basically, is it standard industrial strength or weaker? |

Here's my opinion after doing some studying:
I can't be sure but it looks like they use a character positional offset in the decoding. This is a pretty darn secure method to compile code.
It is something more advanced than string replace, that's for certain, however ordinal character positions seem to be correct (cr,lf and spacing). Due to the positional offset though you can't use bare basic string replace.
I give this a 'B+'. It's secure enough.
Let me know if your opinion differs/if you have the official answer. |

You mean the tool can only decompile VDS 5 EXEs and DSUs only but cant decompile VDS 6 EXEs and DSUs right? |

Have anyone bought anything or use its autoreply function from visualdialogscript recently?
I try the autoreply function on its website regarding its product but I never receive any emails. |
