|
|
Hello again,
Well since the tooltips cannot be used in VDS because of the CPU usage of 99% when you use them. Is there any other alternatives? I would like to have tooltips or something similar like text that changes when the mouse goes over a selected button. Using the dialog set...
Any ideas? |

Sure is, what I do is use a status bar or text somewhere on the
dialog and create a mouseover event to show the "tooltip" in the
status bar or text. If you want an example, let me know. _________________ Chris

The problem I have is that in my event loop there's lots of things that has to be check constantly. So I cannot put a WHILE -WEND in it because the rest of my events or bits of code won't be processed until the user removes the mouse from the "hotspot-Tooltip alternative". But if your example if something else then a while-wend... maybe it could work..
Thanks |

I posted ToolTip.dsc on VDSWorld. Check it out and see if it will work for you. If not, I'll keep looking for another solution. _________________ Chris

Well I just tried your example and on Windows 2000 the CPU jumps to 73% on my machine for the compiled version of tooltip.dsc.
So it's not really an alternative..
And my application jumped from 4% CPU utilization to 25% by including the example.
My application has more things to do during the event loop and timer so that's why it doesnt jump to 73%. But still 25% is very high.
Thanks anyway,,, |
