For future reference, check out http://perso.wanadoo.fr/tmcd2/Versions.htm - it contains most Windows versions as numbers starting from Windows 95.
XP however is missing - may be when the page is updated . . .

By the way, this is a great site if you want to know about registry entries and settings for all sorts of things. _________________

For the record, XP is Windows NT version 5.1 and the build number that was released to manufacturers is 2600, hence the 5.1.2600 referenced above. Any number lower than 2600 indicates a "release candidate" or a beta version. |

Does anyone know which registry key states whether the client machine is running the Home or Professional version of XP?
