I am trying to get my head around CGI !

Can anyone give me a simple source code on how to do CGI?

I mean, If for example

I created a CGI program that when a user fills in a form on a web page, it sends the data to the cgi program. It performs the operation and then sends an email or give them back a answer or code or whatever??

Thanks for help in advance

http://www.vdsworld.com/index.php?page=download&fileid=1

CGI Guestbook (vds source code)
http://www.vdsworld.com/index.php?page=download&fileid=113

vdsstudio.dllhttp://www.vdsworld.com/index.php?page=download&fileid=20

You can't run vds cgi's on a unix server, the server must be Windows based (windows nt, 2000). There are many hosts on the internet that offer this service but none that I know of that are free. If you are on a budget try using Parcom (http://www.parcom.net), you can get a Windows 2000 account for about $4 a month and use VDS cgi scripts. The scripts themselves are just compiled exe's that generate the output into the users webbrowser.

PK, I tried parcom and have yet to get any vds cgi programs running there... Seems they've changed some things on their services there regarding exe's and such

You might want to look into PHP also. It's not very far from VDS and goes right into an html file(saved as a .php file). Only hard part I've seen is testing out your pages. You have to use a server with PHP support, unlike html which you can just open on your computer.
I installed Apache and test it with that.

Hi Sheep,

Thanks for letting me know the French language has disappeared. I only notice by now that I forgot finishing all the language re-uploads, I must've felt asleep during the process. Embarassed
I'll try to get them all uploaded again.

About deleting posts, you seem to be right, it doesn't seem to be possible anymore. You can always contact a Team Member though to have your own posts deleted.

Best regards,

Tommy
