Anybody know of a way to send raw data to the
sound card in VDS? Or is there a DLL to do this?

Cheers, Mac Smile

Hi Mac,

Have you tried with MCI?

Not sure it can be done thru MCI, but just an idea

I have a little command line app called rawtowav.exe to convert RAW to WAV maybe that could help. It doesnt seem to work in Windows 2K.

Anyway if you want it let me know...

Cool

Thanks Marty, but I wasn't talking about "raw" files
such as "MUSIC.RAW" etc.

I meant sending the actual bytes (such as a
portion of a WAV file without the file header). If
MCI can do that, I haven't figure it out yet...

In case you're wondering what I'm doin', I've
been playing with a VDS text to speech program
(very rudimentary at this point). I can use individual
WAV files, but I thought it'd be easier to have the
sounds all in one file and play the portion I need.

It's no big deal, just a hobby at this point... Wink

BTW, anybody have a good microphone voice? Laughing

Cheers, Mac Smile
