I have noticed, using this site, that if I am using a two screen display systems (i.e. 2 side by side 1024x768 Monitors) messages in topics are attempting to display at the full two-screen resolution, effectively meaning that I have to use the horizontal scroll to view the whole message!

Normally the IE window would only appear on one screen, whereas the topic message assume it appears at the full resolution width. Can this be changed please? Rather than examining the resolution, could it look at the IE window size?

Not sure where to put this topic as it is more to do with the VDSWORLD site than VDS.

Cheers

Do you have this problem with other forums which use phpBB as well? It might be that the tables are about 100% of the window's size, but it should not depend on the screen's resolution... Confused

This is the only phpBB site that I use! I hate these sorts of forums normally, being far more used to a better system, such as www.web.conferencing.co.uk.

But as I use VDS extensively, I visit this site. Although it has been very quiet of late...

Moved this topic to Miscellaneous Smile

The way you describe your problem Andy, it looks to me like it's a problem with internet explorer or another software setting at your computer. The board doesn't have any feature that looks like setting a maximum width for the design.

But most html tables that are used at this forum and the main site (and at many other sites on the internet) use the <table width="100%"> parameter, so perhaps that's why the site uses the whole available width. (like Skit mentioned)

Have a look at other phpBB forums and let us know if the same problem occures with those forums.

Vic
