I have a strange problem with FREELIB in one of my programs.

I'm using ftp.dsc (the one which comes in the demos\apiex\ftpclient folder of VDS5). The program works perfectly in the VDS IDE but not when compiled. The symptom is when FTP UNINITIALIZE is called. The program gets to the statement FREELIB WININET and freezes. The cursor changes eventually to an hourglass and I have to kill the program in the Windows Task Scheduler.

I have the same routine in another program an it works perfectly in the compiled program.

I've checked my use of variables, made sure all commands and functions are declared, running in the correct folder... in short, I'm at a loss as to why it won't work when compiled but does in the IDE.

I'd really appreciate some help with this one.

Cheers...

Does it freeze after you restart your computer?

Yes... that was one of the first things I checked. It's really wierd. At the moment I'm not calling FTP uninitialize so FREELIB WININET is not being done. Hopefully by just exiting the program XP is sorting out memory ok. It's a programme that isn't left running... rather use it and close it down.

Cheers.

I think VDS EXEs unload all used DLLs called by "loadlib" automaticly when exiting the script... Smile
