|
|
I'd like to write something to notify our front office when a staff person is out of the office.
There would be a client app that the user selects either "In Office" or "Out of Office" and a field where they can add a time they will return, and a comment ie "annual leave" or "out for lunch"
The front office app would have a list of all staff, with a green dot for in office, red dot for out of office, if you click a red dot, you get the comment pop up.
Just wondering if it's possible to collect this data from multiple clients, and instantly update it on the master program, or if I should be looking at another product to write this?
Thanks in advance... |

Hi,
this should not be a problem to do with vdsipp.dll extension.
On the master system runs a TCP server and the clients send messages to it.
Then the master-program interprets the client messages.

There should be some examples floating about either on the forums here, or on the main site and even with the vdsipp extension or one of the other tcp/ip extensions out there. They may not exactly be what you are immediately looking for, but they will at least give you an idea of how to setup your in/out board. In fact, this should be an easy job once you understand how to use one of the tcp/ip extensions. _________________ 'What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others.' - Confucius (550 b.c. to 479 b.c.) |
