Is there any way of hiding a program in Windows Xp.

What i mean is, can you hide a running program from the task manager, maybe as a service?

If as a service, can it be controlled via an interface.

I what the ability to run a hidden program that will perform tasks without the user be able to close or delete it.

(if this cant be done, the can i make it so the see it but they cant stop the system loading it, deleteing it, or opening it without a security password)

Did you try Tommy's vdsprot.dll? It could restrict the mouse movement area, remove the name of a program from the task manager and disable CTRL+ALT+DEL and ALT+TAB keys, if you wanted; I never tried it with Windows XP though... If it works, don't forget to tell Smile

Unfortunately hiding the program from the task list using VDSPROT only works on
Windows 9x, definitely not on NT.
