Glad to see you found your way here...
Not too sure how many are here that still dabble in the old 2.x code, and I'm going to be out of commission for a while. But when I get back, I'd be more than happy to help out with any 2.x code help you might need.

Welcome to the board Charlie,
I have VDS 2.5 (32 bit), but mostly use VDS 3 unless
making fully contained EXEs (a feature I sorely miss in
VDS 3, as well as the lack of a command line compiler).
VDS 3 and later EXEs require the VDS runtime DLL.
If ya post a question, just be sure to mention that it's
for VDS 2.5, and there's prolly several here that can
help ya out.
BTW, I'm an ex-Tex myself...

Mac, ya mean 3.0 and up arent portable like the 2.x versions?! No Way!!
I got VDS back when it was JM Technical Services, and when it got changed to SADE it really felt like.. umm I dunno kinda hard to explain.. given to the kids and the old man was walkin away because he was too busy to be bothered with it any more.. kinda.. I d/l the 4 demo and it dosent feel like the streamlined tool it was designed to be.
Ehh well.. thanks for the info, I was thinkin about buyin 4 or offerin a co-worker 20 or 30 bucks for his copy of 3.51 since he hasnt used it for over a year, but I dunno now. I really like the run anywhere ease of my 2.21 (I checked my version

Hey Charlie,
Maybe I wasn't clear enough with my post. VDS 3
and up still compile to EXE files, but they are a lot
smaller and require the VDS runtime DLL to be
included (either in the working directory or the
windows\system directory). Pretty much the same
as Visual Basic programs require the VBRUN DLLs.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
