hiya,
first of all i really like the author's section...a lot easier to use than before...especially the section on adding new files
a couple of suggestions/problems if i may,
- i tried to add a new file...filled in all the required info and tried to upload the file (just over 2 megs) and it says that i need to fill all the required fields...which i did! this happened twice on the same file...any ideas?
- when downloading a file, say whatever.zip, could we just have the file saved under that name instead of whatever.w9e0r0qh89werlweurqwh9.zip?
- in the section where we can compile our own group of dll's...could there be a one sentence explanation of what each dll does? please...
thanks

Hey Serge,
well - I'll have a look at the first 2 problems/suggestions. I think they should be easy fixable
And I'll have a look if I can copy the general description of a dll from the VDSDLL helpfile. Otherwise I'll ask Tommy if he can write a description for all dlls.
But I dunno if I've time to have a look at it today; my room is one big mess, since I had to 'deejay' yesterday, and I only had a few hours of sleep. So I feel practicly dead

The 'problem' with the filenames has been solved.
I think that a timeout occured when you where uploading that 2MB file. That's why the script thought that the file was empty I'll have a look if it's fixable.

Yep... just tried with a 3 MB file, and it looks like a timeout is causing the problem

Why don't we create something to upload from a URL, so people can ftp their file to their own site, then vdsworld can get the file? Uploading from a browser is usually slower I believe. _________________ FreezingFire

Sounds great, but isn't it too difficult/complex to make?

I will work on it. I have time in a few months to actually do some stuff.
It shouldn't be that hard, and also instead of using secure_downloads we
can just thread the file through the PHP script for better access control. _________________ FreezingFire

Just fixed it this morning; no secure_downloads directory is required anymore

hi vic,
still no good...this is getting annoying...ggrr!!!
i just tried to upload my file and i get the same message "please fill in all required fields"
if i was on isdn or cable or adsl, it would not bother me to try and try...but i am on dialup at anything between 28k and 33k

As a temprorary solution, you could always email your file to me, and I'll upload it for you
