Hello all,

First off all I want to say that I really appreciate the DLL's you made to make our lifes much easier! But with alle the DLL's together I'm still not able to create what I need.

I must create an advanced music-system for use in a ballroom. I must be almost the same like the most DJ-systems (like Denon) works.

What I need is:
- The possibility to slow down/speed up the way MP3's are played;
- The possibility to play 2 MP3's at the same time on 2 different soundcards;
- The possibility to change/read the contents in an ID3v1 tag.

I know that there already is a possibility for point 3, but I'd like to see it all in 1 VDS-DLL. If it's not possible to create point 2, it's not that bad, but I REALLY NEED point 1!

If you are a VDS-DLL-Programmer, or you know to find 1 (or more) DLL's with these functions, than please let me know below. Like I said, my boss is probably willing to pay for it, as he really needs this function in his program!

Leave you email-address below with some suggesstions and I will contant you as soon as possible!

Thank you,
Raymond

PS: I'm using VDS 3.5!

You may want to contact CR/SADE - support@dialogscript.com I think they have a dll like this already made which allows for multiple mp3 playback and changing the tempo, it also reads id3 tags.

I don't know if they will be willing to share it yet or not. There are several legal reasons they may not since the MP3 decoding/encoding format has to be licensed.

Don't forget to mention whether or not you want the 'Master Tempo' functionality...

In case you don't know what MT means: when changing the speed of music, the pitch changes to. MT prevents this, so, when changing the speed, only the tempo of the music is changed, the pitch will be untouched. Smile

I'm still getting confused with the difference between the pitch and the tempo... Can you explain that for me Vic? It may help me on my way to find an aswer for my problem!

Thanks,

Hmm.... i think that the english people will understand what I mean, so I'll explain it in dutch

Quote:

Regards,
Vic

Thanks for your quick reply Vic (11 minutes later) Very Happy And it's much better in Dutch for me Smile

I now see the difference between those 2 and I understand what MT is. I think I should try to get a MT function, and else just a tempo function (That the pitch changes too I have to life with... The music will only tempo up for 8% or something).

Thanks again,
Raymond

You mean a 'pitch' function Wink

And if I was you, I should try to get a dll that supports a tempo/pitch change of 16% or more... My dj cd player also supports a maximum tempo change of 16%, and sometimes even that's too less Confused

Regards,
Vic
