Anyone know if there is a way for VDS to read a PDF file?
I need to be able to extract the text in PDF files to be able to parse info out of it.
I know there is an extention that allows you to view pdf files but, I need to be able put the text in a list.
Thanks in advance |

No, not at this time. But! There are some "This To That" command line
converting programs online, and many of them freeware. I've seen
"PDF To <pick your flavor here>" all over the net.
"PDF To Text" on Google gets you this:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=%22PDF+To+Text%22&btnG=Google+Search
Doing the same on Sourceforge.net turns up a bunch, but make sure
you click the "Require all words" option. _________________ 'What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others.' - Confucius (550 b.c. to 479 b.c.) |

How about one to convert water into wine, or loaves into fishes? _________________ The Tech Pro

Garrett,
I am still working on that. RTF to HTML is harder than RTF to text, HTML to Text, and VDS to Text. Striping formating code is easy you just keep removing it until your left with plain Text and add a few rules and bang you have plain text. Text has less rules than HTML, RTF, PDF, and even dare I say it VDS hehehehehe
Jules,
Are you saying that you have added a function in VDS 6 for turning water into wine? Opps I said something about the next version of VDS.
Just so everyone knows I am still a newbie at this stuff and I am very slow at this programming stuff _________________ Home of
