Hi All,

Would anyone be able to provide a simple example of how to implement the following?

I want to place a simple .html form on a Web site (Windows server) and then collect the information for placement into a simple text file on the server (which I can then download at my convenience).

I was hoping to use a simple VDS .exe, but I have never dabbled much with CGI before... Any ideas of how to accomplish this using VDS?

Thanks,

- Boo

P.S. I have searched for articles on the above, but the information I have found is sparse or not very clear.

Hi Boo,

First of all, do you already have a Windows webserver installed? If not, I would really recommend you the "Abyss Web Server" of Aprelium. After you've installed the webserver, you can use Tommy Sools' vdsinet dll which is included within the vdsdll28 package. Some little CGI examples are included already, so you can compile them and try them right away... Smile

Hi Skit3000,

I am hosting through a commerical provider. I was hoping to be able to simply create the necessary .exe and place into the applicable directory on my site...

Thanks,

- Boo

That should be possible as well, if they allow you to update dll files. Just compile one of the CGI examples which come with the vdsdll I refered to my last post and upload the exe file, the vdsinet.dll and the vdsrun50.dll... Smile
