The "recent forum postings" panel has gone from the right hand side of the main page, and the Google page rank has dropped off the clock again. _________________ The Tech Pro

I think there was an issue with the site using too much of the server CPU
for some reason when executing that code. As for Google pagerank, that's
a load of bs if you ask me. I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but I really find it
not useful for small sites, or even medium ones like these. _________________ FreezingFire

| Google recently changed their pagerank I think. Pagerank IMHO is overrated and too many people really give it more credit than what it's worth. Pagerank can be easily fooled if you want to get a higher rank with minimal effort. |

But surely it's one of the things Google uses to decide how high up the search results your site will come? BS or not, it's still important, since Google is still the most popular search engine. _________________ The Tech Pro

| You're right that its probably the biggest factor to determine your listing/position on Google thus helping getting hits. The thing is with software you typically are listed on numerous sites thus a majority of your hits will actually come from those shareware/freeware websites and word of mouth rather than from google. |

Jules I agree that it's important to have a good page rank to receive
hits from searches on Google and its partners, but I think they're just
playing a big game.. it seems to me that way. _________________ FreezingFire

Yes, but you want people to find your site when searching, ideally. If they go to some listing site then they will not only find links to your product, but also to your competitors. _________________ The Tech Pro

Yep, it's a game, with the aim of trying to make the most money for Google. But it's the only game in town. _________________ The Tech Pro
