Im looking into building a simple network monitoring application and was wondering if anybody knows of any DLL's that would support network sniffing or the ability to pick up content on a network so it can be analyzed.

I know there is winpcap but I dont know if there is any way to integrate that into a VDS script. I dont think you can but I could be wrong here. Im more curious because I would like to write an application that listens on the network and when certain binary or ascii keywords are triggered it will generate an action (in this case an email to the administrator) that a certain action has been performed.

Thanks for your time everybody and good day.

WD
