|
|
I've done a search to see if this has been asked before before but I get so many hits that it is difficult to sift through them to see if there is answer so I am asking the question. Apologies in advance if it has been asked many times before.
The VDS5 Help which I'm referring to a lot because I'm so rusty on VDS is 'always on top' - can I change this so that it goes away by clicking on the VDS main screen. I'd like to keep it open for reference but, at present, it is just getting in the way.

The simplest way to do this is to copy the vds helpfile to the tools folder and add a shortcut to it in the tools menu (or your Windows Start menu).
The help file then opens completely independent from the vds IDE.
There is also a tool (External Help) written by Tdk161 which when added to the Vds Tools folder gives you the ability to independently call up any help file you add to it.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
Also, I seem to remember from my VDS 3.0 days that hitting F1 with the cursor on a keyboard opened the help file with that topic on display. This doesn't seem to work anymore. Has this little nicety been taken out or have I misconfigured something?

Try Ctrl+F1 for context-sensitive help.

Yep! That's the one. It's all coming back to me now.
