Hi TimeSurfer,
There are a couple people here that still build Vds dlls, myself included,
but there really isn't any money to be made from selling the extensions to
the average VDS programmer so extension development for VDS has
pretty much came to a standstill.
Most of the extension requests require ungodly amounts of programming,
lots of coffee, a big bottle of aspirin, and lots of time. For example, my
SSMenu.Dll, to it's current version, has consumed better than 200 hours of
my time. I can't afford to put that much time into a product and not make
anything off of it. Granted that SSMenu.Dll is FREEWARE and always will
be, along with my SSTreeVw.dll. Those two extensions are my
contribution to the VDS community. Between those two extensions, I've
spent close to 500 hours developing them.
You may be able to contract a developer to write an extension for you, but
I don't think you'll find one that will do it for free anymore. Sorry. _________________ Bill Weckel

yea i wouldnt expect anyone to code it for free as i myself charge for my time coding in other languages (mainly tcl) i sent a request for pricing estimate for a custom dll but nvr got a reply. id be willing to pay for them as i desperately need these. one is a dll supporting IRC protocols (RFC1459) and one for allowing voice chat say over ip or across a network kinda like your gaming applications today (ie gamespy) _________________ T-i-m-e-S-u-r-f-e-r |

One thing you might try, is to record sound from a microphone, take a piece of it every 0.5 seconds and to send it using UDP/IP. After that, on the recievers side, you could paste all pieces together and play them. Only problems occur when one piece is received before an earlier sent one, since that would mess up the output on the recievers side. _________________ [ Add autocomplete functionality to your VDS IDE windows! ]
