hello
all does vds have a varible limit? meaning can you only have some many varibles like this:

%%donwload = whatever
|
the resaon why i ask is that i get this error msg
eorror code 5
line number 791
invalid variable name or to many variables
and i know the varible name is right..why do i get this eorror?

| Yes, there indeed is a limit. For VDS 4 this is 256 long variable names. |

Make sure you actually spelled the variable the same as other places in your script. Your example was %%donwload = whatever, which I would think should be %%download.
Also make sure you only use letters and numbers in a variable's name. _________________ -Sheep

For VDS3 the variable limit is 163:
DialogScript allows you to have up to 163 variables.
35 standard variables. Variable names start with a percent symbol, followed by the character 1 to 9 or A to Z.
As well as the standard variables %A to %Z and %0 to %9 you can have 128 user-defined variable names. These variables begin with %%, a letter, then alphanumerics plus underscores (e.g. %%my_variable_1.) There is no limit on the length of the variable name.

I was going to mention... as quoted from the help file in Mac's post. Though your Variables can contain numbers, they must start with a letter; they cannot start with a number.
